Dr. Emily Darling is a coral reef field ecologist helping scientists access their data cleaner and faster. She believes democratizing data and improving access to data science training helps decolonize conservation.

Dustin Sampson works alongside organizations to help create awesome applications for collecting, analyzing and reporting on their data.

Dr. Gabby Ahmadia works to link science to action to support coral reef conservation. She strives to put data and information in the hands of the people who make decisions (and usually aren’t scientists!)

Nasser Olwero is a conservation information systems scientist who works on making information available and usable for conservation decision making.

Sharla Gelfand is an advanced R programmer and designer specializing in developing tools, like the ‘mermaidr’ package, that enable easier access to data with repeatable and future-proof processes.

Nick Hoang works as a web developer building responsive and reactive applications for marine scientists to collect and manage their data.

Melissa leads the front-end web development of MERMAID. 

Al Leonard helps understand and design how users can best interact with MERMAID and coordinates user testing of new features with a focus on streamlined and efficient user experience.
